4 armed humanoid creatures and a gesture

We're having so much fun in lifedrawing class.. creatures are always fun to draw. I think it's a guy thing..
Anyways, these are done in the big lifedrawing pad which is..36X24? can't remember exactly.
spent about 10~15 minutes, and....those mistakes..make me sigh. But it was design on the spot, which i only had my intuitive and visualizing skills to come up with the ideas. Hopefully that can be my excuse.
.
.
and i thought that gesture worked out quite intersting for 30 seconds
but it was very still-pose, i had to exaggerate alot

western theme character rough

These are not done yet, still needs some fixings and tweaks. As some of my friends pointed out, first guy looks a bit female-ish, and the last character has a structural problem. And some study of fabric types of costume will help alot to strenthen my design.
.
.
At least 2 poses from each page (except last) has a structural/proportion problem.

Cafe/hallway/subway/etc sketches

From the first year in school, I really forced myself to do these alot..as well as many character studies.
I use about 5 sketchbooks in a term on top of school works and 3 hours of lifedrawing 7 times a week. And it's actually 9 times now..
Anyways..ya this is the reason of my hand injury, as well as not taking too much attention to my health. But it can be avoided doing proper stretch and exercise. I've been going to Athletic Therapy Centre these days, and it's alot of help.

some character designs

just playing around with faces

Quick Sketches(from life)

2 minute character-lifedrawing sketches i did in Emslie's class.
Character design class with Peter this year is my favourite class so far.
So many things i'm learning and so much improvements i'm having in his class.
This exercise gave me great experience making character out of life, and sometimes i was lucky enough to see him drawing gestures by his side.
But really ya, drawing 2 figures in 2 minutes is very hard. Lot of mistakes are too obviously visible.
gotta draw more!

layout workbook assignment

(this isn't the final look of the assignment and not all the boards are used for workbook)
This workbook was done in Scott's class last term, and i really liked doing it.
But i used a storyboard that was made in 1 hour-ish for john's class..so the board itself isn't really that interesting i suppose..well this was a layout assignment anyhow.
Hmm I really liked Scott's classes last term, but some how i feel really bored in his class these days..
not too much motivation was involved in last 2 assignments.
but he's still great. He loves my sketches and drawings but suggests spending more time on structurally drawing and finishing layout assignment. Which is my biggest lazyness problem next to sleeping habit. I'll make them better for sure..

more life drawings

5, 10, 15 minute drawings.
I was JUST learning shading in Brian's class when i was doing the third one.
He gave me some useful tips

Ed- short ones

not only his poses were great, but these were done in another joe's class, and he was very inspiring.
First drawing is my favourite gesture i ever made so far.
So much can be done in just one minute and 30 seconds..

LIfedrawings - Ed

Man..gotta love his gestures...
First two are 2 min poses and the rest 5

Life drawing -gestures

First one is 2 minute drawing being the oldest one of these, and the rest 1 minute and 30 second(second drawing)

life life life

approaching different style

Life drawings ..

First one is 1minute gesture and the last one is 5 minute.
These were done in joe's class, when he was filling bobby's class for 2 weeks in our school.
And some shading practice and caricature of matt and debbie

Ohhhh ya life drawings

Alot more to come..these are somewhere around 10 minute drawings
but the pose for the second drawing was like 2 minutes..i just added some shadows later.
Anyways these are done before when i learned proper shading in Brian's class
